PATIENTS AT RISK OF BLEEDING AT THE DENTIST’S OFFICE

Nowadays, it is very common to see patients who present hemorrhagic risk. The most frequent cause is taking anticoagulants such as Sintrom for cardiovascular problems. In these cases, a very simple assessment can be made in the consultation room of the INR, which is the indicator commonly used to assess the bleeding risk in case of intervention. It is performed in a few minutes with a small puncture in the finger and avoids cumbersome interconsultations. If it is below 2, the usual interventions can be performed at the dentist, without the need to suspend the anticoagulant, thus avoiding unnecessary risks.
